A warm, elegant holiday Manhattan with bourbon, fig preserves, and LAVA Spiced Demerara Syrup for a rich, silky finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey

  • 1 teaspoon fig preserves

  • 1/4 oz LAVA Spiced Demerara Syrup

  • 1/2 oz sweet vermouth

  • 1 dash orange bitters

  • Garnish: expressed orange peel or dried fig

  • Ice: for stirring

Instructions

  1. Add bourbon, fig preserves, LAVA Spiced Demerara Syrup, sweet vermouth, and bitters to a mixing glass.

  2. Add ice and stir until well chilled and smooth.

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.

  4. Garnish with an orange peel or a dried fig.

Notes

• Use rye whiskey for a spicier finish.
• For a smoked variation, smoke the glass with a cedar or oak wood chip before pouring.
• Add a tiny pinch of cinnamon for a warmer holiday profile.
